The elegant architecture of a château, the reassuring charm of a stately home or the peaceful atmosphere of a village dozing on a hillside are just a few of the subjects of inspiration that Pierre Vallon liked to paint.
Even a simple isolated barn in a vast landscape could be the center of interest for a setting, emphasizing the natural elements surrounding it through contrast.
Pierre Vallon painted them in the same way as natural landscapes, removing the details that were out of place in their composition, and favor color and atmosphere, giving each of his works of art a real “geographical” authenticity.
From Brittany to Corsica, via the Alps and the Ardèche, or following the Vendée Coast, his pastels will remain real architectural accounts of perfectly identifiable regional traditions.
